Hattem

Hattem

Hattem is a historic city with an impressive history. The mysterious Spanish tombs, the Spijker Watervliedt, and the old watermill. Hattem is surrounded by beautiful nature reserves. The walking and cycling tours lead you through, among other places, the vast floodplains along the IJssel, the wooded North Veluwe, and the polder landscape in the North.

  • Elburg

    The town of Elburg is beautifully situated on the Randmeren lakes and is considered one of the most picturesque old towns in the Netherlands. The town has preserved its rectangular medieval street plan, and you will find beautiful ramparts, canals, and sections of the city wall. Within the ramparts, there are over 250 monuments. Outside the ramparts, near the Vischpoort, lies the cozy harbor with an original fish auction.

    From the very first glance at Kampen, you can sense its ancient history. A beautiful waterfront forms along the IJssel, with the brown fleet in the foreground. Kampen is a Hanseatic city with a centuries-long tradition of trade and shipping. It is a charming city with many monumental buildings that tell more about the history of this Hanseatic city.

Deventer is a city worth visiting with a monumental center. The heart of the inner city is formed by the Brink, an elongated market square lined with trees and terraces. The Brink is the largest city square in the Netherlands and is home to various monumental buildings and objects.

Giethoorn

Giethoorn

A visit to Giethoorn means a trip on the water. Take the helm yourself in a whisper boat or join a guided tour. Or would you prefer to be more active? Hop into a canoe or a traditional Giethoorn punt. Giethoorn is located in Weerribben-Wieden National Park, the largest peatland area in Northwest Europe.
